What is MySource Classic?

MySource Classic was a powerful, open source website and intranet content publishing and management system written in PHP4. The MySource Classic project is now closed since PHP will stop supporting PHP4 in August 2008.

MySource Classic was designed to enable technically unskilled users to build and maintain their own web solutions securely, professionally and inexpensively.

Simple Operation

MySource Classic was designed to allow people with no web development skills to build professional, corporate strength websites and intranets. MySource has an easy to use interface so people who only know how to user a word processor and a web browser can create, publish and manage their own web projects. MySource Classic features:

• Its own WYSIWYG web page publishing tool (no HTML needed)
• Support for existing web pages (load other HTML pages)
• Image upload and positioning
• File attachments and document management
• A web form builder

As MySource Classic is an entirely browser based system, you will only need a web enabled machine to use it (i.e. it is truly cross platform and you need no other software to run it).
 

Delegate Responsibility

MySource Classic supports multiple authors with different access privileges so allowing businesses to have many people contribute to the one site. To ensure these people can work together simultaneously, MySource Classic includes:

Design

Content management does not need to mean ugly and messy. MySource Classic allows authors as much or as little design flexibility as needed to ensure your project remains attractive. Web designers can use the built in tools to load their own designs and style sheets or to change any aspect of the site cosmetics.
 

Document Management

MySource Classic integrates with your existing business activities through its own document management system. MySource Classic allows you to load Word files, PDFs, MPEGs, PowerPoint presentations, Zip archives in fact almost any standard file type and securely share it with other users.

MySource Classic allows you to restrict access to an entire site or merely an area of a site thus allowing the construction of Intranets and extranets. The sophisticated session based security system ensures that unauthorised individuals cannot access sensitive information. User accounts can be easily kept up to date with the built in automated administration tools.

MySource Classic was built on technology designed to run some of Australia’s largest business websites and intranets. The system is designed to scale rapidly with each deployment easily supporting hundreds of sites each with thousands of pages. MySource Classic has its own cache manager to ensure all content can be served efficiently but securely – a must for high traffic sites.
